All About Plasma Televisions

Plasma televisions have flooded the market, but there are some important facts you should know first. They are a premium price but they offer one of the best combinations of features for a High Definition television today. Plasma screens offer a flat screen of 4” thick that have one of the best pictures available. The newest televisions have resolution capabilities of up to 1080p. This is a huge leap in resolution compared to DVD which only has capabilities of 480i. This means that HD capable plasma televisions can produce more than twice the resolution of a DVD.

The reason that a plasma television can produce such images in a thin layer is the technology that was actually created about 35 years ago. Plasma technology starts with two thin pieces of glass that are filled with xenon and neon gas. The chamber contains all of the pixels which can reach into the millions. This chamber is filled with electric current and it illuminates the pixels that also fill the chamber. This process creates a brilliant picture that is almost unmatched by any other screen. Plasma screens offer very high resolution that is bright and has a wide viewable range. You can view the screen within a 160 degree range with no loss in quality.

To incorporate most of the advantages of a plasma television, you must make sure that it has the features that are most up to date. The most up to date features of plasma televisions is that they have 1080p resolution. You also need multiple HDMI connections because you will be connecting more than just one HD component. DVD players, cable boxes and game consoles all have HDMI capability that makes the best use of your television. Make certain that your plasma television can handle at least two HDMI connections, or it is out of date. Component video is still a great second option, but it will not create as good results. Remember that your plasma television is a center piece for your technology and it should be capable of everything that you own.

Buying a Plasma Television

With televisions getting bigger and bigger Plasma Television technology has become a front runner in the big screen race.

A few years ago a plasma television was well out of the financial reach of the average man with the smaller televisions costing upwards of $8000. But with steady competition from the LCD technology these prices are steadily coming down as time goes by. Now is the chance for the common man to purchase a big screen plasma television.

There are several sizes when it comes to plasma televisions. They range from 25 inch up-to 60 inch. All delivering high quality picture.  But what do you look for when purchasing a big screen plasma television?

There are several things to look for. Firstly don’t go for the biggest one there. This will be the most expensive one and dropping a size or two below the biggest will get you the most value for money.

The second thing to look for would be the brand. Go for the most trusted brand. Some well known brands include Panasonic, LG and Sony. Sony plasma televisions tend to be more expensive than the other brands.

Thirdly you will need to look for a plasma television that suits your needs. Meaning one that has a remote and interface that is simple to use, and has all the connections you need for your surround sound system or DVD player.

Picking the right plasma television need not be a difficult task. You can ask friendly staff at any of the major electronics stores for suggestions and recommendations. In the end the choice is yours. The choice of which brand you want to buy, which color, which size etc. It depends on your personal taste and of course your budget. These days a 60 inch plasma television will cost you around $6000. Of course this is for a huge screen that most of us will not need. The more modest 42 inch screens will only set you back around $3000.

Buying A Plasma TV

Plasma TVs offer a much higher resolution and better picture quality than TVs of old, and can also be used as great computer monitors as well. Gamers especially like using a Plasma TV due to the fact that they can get greater graphic detail and clearer pictures which helps to enhance game play, making it more enjoyable.

Another advantage to owning a Plasma TV is that colors look better than on any other TV or monitor. Having high-end color creates a better picture, and makes TV seem more real, a good feature for movie buffs for sure.

Brighter colors and higher contrasts add to viewing pleasure, as well as the ability to watch TV and movies in wide screen.

Many people are better satisfied with Plasma TVs as they require much less space than the traditional TV sets. You no longer have to plan your furniture layout around where the TV is positioned, as the small size and wider screen makes it easy to see from almost any angle or distance in the room. No matter where you sit in your room, you should be able to clearly see TV, which is an added bonus to the Plasma TV.

Plasma TVs range in size from the standard twenty inch models, all the way up to fifty inches in width. Keep in mind however, the bigger the screen is, the higher the price is likely to be. Plasma TV’s work particularly well if you are planning to set up your own home theatre, couple it with a good surround sound system, and you have all the benefits of the theatre without all the extra people to annoy you.

Resolution also affects the price of your Plasma TV. The higher resolution, the sharper and clearer the picture, but the more of a dent it will put in your wallet. You will probably be better suited by purchasing a well known brand name Plasma TV, as you are likely to get better service from a reputable manufacturer. A good price is important for the obvious reason, but remember, sometimes you get what you pay for. If you buy from a vendor just because he is cheap you can be setting yourself up for problems right off the bat.

There are several resources available online to help with any questions you may have about purchasing a Plasma TV. It is a good idea to look into several different sources before making a final decision and handing over your hard earned cash.

Hitachi Half Life 55-hdm71 Plasma TV

This flat screen television, the Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71, performs sharply and smoothly. With its high resolution of 1366 x 768, this plasma flat TV can’t be beat. There is 20% more picture on this 55″ screen than there is on a standard 50″ screen. The 10 bit image processing on Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71 brings a vibrant picture with 1.07-billion color capability and great contrast, which makes it perform like a smaller television.

Aside from the screen capabilities, this Hitachi plasma flat TV also includes extension modes, full serial control, and a 20-watt audio amplifier. On top of this, there is picture-in-picture and split-screen image control for home theater and commercial use. Additionally, there is the option of including a swivel table top stand, wall mount bracket, and black or silver side mount speakers. Along with the Hitachi plasma monitors’ normal technology and seamless integration, it makes for a great flat tv.

The single drawback to the Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71 is that it ships with “black enhancement on.” This means when you are watching the TV, there will be no detail in the dark scenes, but it is resolved easily enough. If you turn off the back enhance, and change the colors settings a bit, it will solve the problem. There are several things that can be done to extend the life of the display. Along with screen savers that employ orbiting, inverting and wiping to refresh the screen, there are also many other options to maximize the life on this plasma TV.

How To Shop For A Flat Screen TV Online

When it comes to shopping for a flat screen TV, consumers have the option of browsing the local retail store, internet shop or mail-order catalog. Because of it’s convenience, many choose to shop online and leave the heavy lifting to someone else. In exchange for a shipping fee, consumers can have the product delivered directly to their doorstep.

When shopping for any product online, including a flat screen TV, there are several ways for the customer to make sure that their bargain purchase doesn’t become a real pain. There is something to be said in the old adage, which declares that if something is too good to be true, then it probably is! Anyone shopping for a flat screen TV should familiarize themselves with the retail price of the particular model that they are interested in purchasing. If the buyer comes across an unrealistic low price for this item, this may throw a red flag to indicate a questionable offering. Technology is expensive and no business, no matter how great or small, can afford to practically give away their merchandise. Extremely high shipping fees combined with low pricing is also a legitimate concern among internet shoppers. Because of the weight of a flat screen TV, consumers can expect to pay a larger shipping fee, but only within reason.

As with most new technology, a warranty is generally available from the manufacturer. During an occasion when a customer purchases a flat screen TV online, they need to make sure that the guarantee is from an American warranty. In addition, customers should pay close attention to exactly what is covered under the warranty, the period covered and which party is responsible for shipping costs if applicable.

Before making any purchase, including that of a flat screen TV, consumers should always check out the business’s reputation with the local Better Business Bureau in their area. It is also a good idea to learn about the company’s return and/or exchange policy in the event that a problem should arise. While it is important to purchase a flat screen TV from a reputable dealer, the sales approach should never be an aggressive one. Even if the company is legitimate, a pushed sale is never a good idea.

As a final thought, when purchasing anything online, including a flat screen TV, consumers may wish to consider doing so with a credit card. The majority of credit card companies offer a dispute process, which enables the customer to gain a full refund if the product is not as advertised or if the company refuses to stand behind their product. Each credit card company retains a unique policy when it comes to customer disputes, which is outlined in the Terms & Agreement paperwork included with their card.

Plasma Flat Screen Television

The plasma flat screen television was invented in the 1960s, and although it made a brief appearance in the market in the 70s, it did not quite catch on. Nowadays, the plasma flat screen television is defining what a home theatre should be, and most people who pride themselves on having a fine home theatre own a plasma flat screen television along with other high-tech innovations, such as surround sound speakers. The plasma flat screen television truly gives one the feeling of sitting in the cinema, and, if mounted on the wall, it can save a lot of space. Although the price was once out of the range of the average consumers, plasma flat screen televisions are slowly moving into the range of affordability.

A plasma flat screen television uses technology that is quite different from the typical cathode ray television. Neon and Xenon gases move between two flat panel glasses. These are inert gases and are not dangerous. The result is amazing color; the typical plasma flat screen television produces 16 million unique colors and provides great contrast between dark and light. The screen has a “perfect black” that gives it a cinematic feel. Although the plasma flat screen television is much larger than the conventional television, with all of its devices, it is usually no more than four inches thick. This allows one to install a plasma flat screen television on the wall to save space.

Although the cost of a plasma flat screen television keeps decreasing, you should take into account the amount of power these televisions can use when you figure out the cost in real terms. While there are many energy-efficient models, a larger plasma flat screen television uses a lot of electricity. However the technology of the plasma TV is being developed and improved constantly, and, before long, using a plasma TV will conserve energy.

One advantage to the plasma flat screen television is that it has a relatively long life; the typical set has 60,000 hours to half life (half-life occurs when the screen quality is reduced by half). When you purchase your plasma flat screen television, ensure that you have an excellent warrantee and that you can have it serviced for free or at a low cost.

One thing to be aware of with your plasma flat screened television is that it is quite delicate, and the slightest bump can cause problems. For instance, if a child throws a ball at the screen, hundreds of individual tubes can lose their ability to glow, and repair for this is expensive, if it is possible. It is therefore a good idea for parents to install their plasma flat screened television so that it is high enough to avoid such interference (and don’t let your kids play ball in the TV room!). There are tilt wall mounts that allow you to install your plasma flat screened television at an angle if you store it high.

Along with the plasma flat-screened television, you can purchase plasma furniture or special cabinets and stands for your plasma television. If you prefer the classic, hardwood look, there are home entertainment cabinets specially designed to hold plasma flat screened televisions along with other equipment. For a more contemporary look, you can find metallic curved stands with simple glass shelves or just a short stand to place on top of an existing cabinet or table.

An important tip to keep in mind when choosing plasma flat screened television furniture and supplies is that they should be well-tested for sturdiness, since a plasma TV cannot handle a bump, much less, a complete fall. Make sure that all surfaces and mounts are sturdy enough to hold your set or more weight, just to be on the safe side.

Show Off That Awesome Plasma TV with the Perfect Stand

Plasma TVs are one of the hottest electronic items being sold today. They are somewhat of a financial investment so whether you’re planning on creating an entire home theatre system for your family or just want a nice way to show off your new TV, a plasma TV stand is an excellent idea. Here’s a few different types of TV stands and cabinets to assist you with your decision making.

Metal Plasma TV Stands

Metal plasma TV stands are modern and stylish and come in different finishes like black or silver. A nice feature of these types of stands is that in some circumstances, the metal is even textured with a powder coat finish to hide fingerprints. They are also very sturdy and easy to assemble. Some manufacturers even give you of choice of features such as glass shelving and magnetized trims in different types of wood finishes.

Console Styles

Consider a console plasma TV stand in your choice of contemporary or elegant wood and metal finishes. Consoles are great because accessories like tapes and DVDs can be stored inside them, out of sight. They also help to ‘hide’ wires and components because the front is covered by the cabinet doors. These aren’t the bulky TV consoles from the ‘old days’ either. Their designs are streamlined and modern and in addition to their functionality, can add a really nice touch to your existing décor.

Designer Style

These types of plasma TV stands come in wide variety of styles and can really add an additional degree of drama to a room. Choose from wood or metal in different finishes and then mix it up with shelving choices in different materials than the base. An all glass stand is a great way to give the illusion of more space in smaller rooms and you can select from clear, frosted or beveled. These stands are also very sturdy and what’s nice about the open style of these types of TV stands is that all of your components are easily accessible. Many also include a swivel turntable so you can easily adjust your TV for different viewers around the room.

Stands with Motorized TV Lifts

Automatic TV lifts are built into the cabinet and designed to raise heavy plasma TVs. They use four rails to guide the unit as motor raises the lift quickly, quietly and safely. Some models will even stop automatically if something obstructs its path in the same way an automatic garage door mechanism works. These are pretty cool but are actually more of a furniture piece so you’ll need to make sure you have the space if this is your choice for a plasma TV stand.

What Makes LCD Flat Panels The Right Choice

When designing your home theater, there are many questions and decisions to be made regarding audio and visual elements. The type of television itself is usually one of the biggest of these decisions.  Plasma, LCD, flat panel, rear-projection – these terms are thrown at us each day and many of us are just starting to understand the differences.  The most common televisions being purchased in the United States are plasma televisions and LCD flat panels.

There are several pros and cons to consider before choosing a LCD television.  While the reduced footprint and the flat screen are nice they certainly aren’t for everyone.  You should carefully consider the various advantages and disadvantages of this TV versus a plasma screen before making a purchase.

The following is some of the basic information about the LCD and some advice to help you in making your decision.  You should keep personal considerations in mind as well, and ask electronics and audio-visual professionals for their opinion if you still aren’t sure as to what you should buy.

Advantages of LCD Flat Panel Television Sets
LCD flat panel televisions have the most options available in regards to how they are installed.  When including one in your home theater, installation can be as simple as placing it on a standard television stand or you can choose to mount it on the wall. Most LCD flat panel televisions are aesthetically pleasing because they are incredibly sleek and thin. They should fit in well with pretty much any home theater design, and they are relatively lightweight when compared to other televisions so that they can be moved easily.

LCD televisions are also considered to be good long-term television investments because they will run for 50,000 – 60,000 viewing hours. Most modern LCD televisions also support higher picture resolutions and high-definition display options are becoming more available as well. And unlike some brands of plasma televisions, LCD video displays do not but an image into the screen after a long period of time.

Disadvantages of LCD Flat Panel Television Sets
Because of the nature of the liquid crystal display in their screens, they are much more likely to be damaged if something hits the screen.  LCD screens should always be installed by a professional; an incorrectly-installed wall mount will pull away from the wall over time and could fall. The cost of an LCD television set is generally higher than plasma or rear-projection televisions, as well.  You should consider that while high-definition display options may be available, not all LCD flat panel televisions are HD-ready and even if they are additional components are generally required to allow HD programming to display. These must be purchased as an additional cost. Additionally, early models of LCD screens did not display black and dark images as clearly as a plasma screen. This differentiation appears to have been improved upon in newer models.

Deciding if LCD Is Right for You
While some of the disadvantages listed above are worst-case scenarios, they should be considered simply because they add additional costs to your overall home theater system.  Be sure to consider exactly how much you want to spend on a television that fits your home, especially if you’re still in the process of buying your system and want it to be included in the home theater installation.  Decide whether you need a high-definition system now or not.  With the transition to digital television in 2009, many are preparing their household for HD now. The decision to buy HD ready televisions and components now is one you will have to make based on your budget and household’s entertainment habits.  This is a major decision to make, and you’re going to want to make sure that you’re happy with the final result when you make it.

Cheating Husband or Wife: 6 Keys to Know if You are Ready to Handle What You Might Find When You Spy

savemarriage | 18 February, 2009 08:38

When you spy on your suspected cheating spouse, please make sure you consider all the possibilities you might encounter and whether you can handle them.

Have you considered the many situations that spying might uncover? Can you imagine the worst thing you might find? Predict what your response will be to the worst-case scenario. Are you ready? Here are some specific questions to ask:

1) Do I have friends I can count on for support if I discover the worst? Do they know I might need them? Have I told them exactly how they might help me? Do I have the capacity to stand back from the deep emotions and not get mired or lost in destructive thoughts and feelings?

2) How have I handled emotional pain in the past? What if it gets almost unbearable? If I encounter the worst possible emotional hurt and pain, do I have a therapist I can contact immediately and see soon to help me through the rough spots?

3) You see the signs of a cheating spouse. What will be my strategy for what I find? Do I have a strategy for the different scenarios? Do I have a strategy to confront or not confront my spouse? How, when and under what circumstances will I confront him/her?

4) What kind of strategy will I have for self-care? What will I need to do to keep myself functioning somewhat effectively?

5) Do I have a coach or an objective someone who knows about cheating husbands and cheating wives and who can help me develop strategies and goals for confrontation and self-care? Someone to keep me focused and working on these strategies and goals?

6) Do I know what kind of affair I might face? Do I know the prognosis for that kind of affair? Have I educated myself about affairs and what I must do to effectively resolve and move through this crisis?

Relationship: Commitment Errors

savemarriage | 18 February, 2009 08:20

COMMITMENT: A ten letter word consisting of 3 vowels and 7 consonants; a word that symbolises union, loyalty, monogamy, togetherness, love, mutual respect and perhaps all those priceless sentiments which we hold in such high esteem. It’s a word almost always associated with marriage; a word that means so much in theory. Yet in practice is so more often than not reduced to a mere string of alphabetical letters.

Marriages today are crumbling for lack of commitment. So why get married in the first place if you have no intention of being loyal?</b> Most ‘contemporary’ women, it seems, have tuned into ‘Desperate Housewives’. The infamous line of “It meant nothing. It was just sex’ being the buzz. Yes, times are hard, there is too much temptation, we are only human, and we all make mistakes. But there are some who actually think it’s OK to sleep around because it really is just sex. At the end of the day, they are going home to their to their partner; they are providing for their partner, they are ‘committed’ to their partner. So what’s the bid deal?

The irony is it is a big deal. Because commitment is clearly no longer what it used to be, the word has developed a whole new meaning. It’s rarely about being together in sickness and health, for richer or poorer etc. Today, it’s about selfish needs. Marriage now rests on ‘convenience’.

Confusing the C word…

Mention the ‘C’ word and you are bound to get varied responses. A sexy bombshell, who has been in a couple of high-profile romance says, “It means everything to me.” while her equally sexy sister says, “It’s just become a word”. Another heartthrob candidly confesses that six months ago, he would have been working his charm on the ladies but today, he is in a serious relationship and doesn’t want to break his sweetheart’s trust, especially since his track record sucks!

A young hottie sincerely feels ‘he can keep love and sex separate’. He believes that he can never ever love another, yet he has faltered on occasions simply for physical reasons. He calls it ‘A momentary flirtation’. His lifelong “commitment” is to only one lady. What does this prove? Utter confusion and a warped sense of values!

Totally committed…

But fear not, for there is hope yet. Nick and Christopher, a married couple, says you can never go wrong if you marry your best friend. They would never abuse each other’s trust. Jonathan, who has been married for three years, explains although there is temptation, he wouldn’t cheat on his partner simply because of his faith in God and respect for his partner. Jim can’t bear the thought of his wife cheating on him. Is he tempted? No, because the mere thought of her leaving him along with the kids, if he ever faltered, is worse than death!

Commitment phobia…

There are others who are afraid of ’settling down’. Steve, 40, remains a bachelor because he is not ready to settle down. He is an incredible man who has the distinction of being friends with every single one of his ex-girlfriends, simply because he has never lied to them about ‘commitment’. Today, the ‘C’ word has multiple meanings. One only hoped it wouldn’t equate to multiple partners!

Why people stay in a relationship or a marriage?

A relationship depends on how one views it. When married, it becomes a special investment, which also has religious connotations. Being with a person for a long period of time gives rise to emotions like affection and love. So people are compromise at the sake of their values. Also, a sense of security comes into play. But selfish motives can also allow a person to stick around for functional purposes.

Why are people scared of making a commitment?

People scared of committing usually suffer from some deep-seated emotional problems. A basic sense of insecurity could also lead to a situation wherein a partner is not willing to commit. While you can’t say whether its men or women who are less likely to commit, the most obvious reason as to why people are scared to commit is the lack of mutual trust.

Common Marriage Problems - Jealousy

savemarriage | 18 February, 2009 08:20

Jealousy in marriage is destructive, a real relationship killer and one of those common marriage problems that needs to be resolved.

In you let feelings of jealousy develop and escalate the mind will run wild, imagine the enemy around every corner, question everything your partner thinks, says and does. In worst case scenario’s unresolved and unchecked jealousy has developed beyond the end of a relationship, into a long-term vendetta and in extreme cases extended to the loss of life.

As much as we would like to deny it, most people struggle with jealous emotions at some point in their lives and, in marriage, it is a one of those common marriage problems that can develop from feelings of insecurity or neglect.

We now live in a society where marriages are often as a result of a second, a fifth or any number of relationships and are, in many cases, second or subsequent marriages. This is just society as we now know it but it can leave spouses insecure, especially when a previous partner is still around, and particularly in the case when children are involved.

People can enter into marriages with so much previous baggage that it often hard to settle into a secure, trusting environment full of self worth and self-belief.

Marital jealousy develops from numerous situations and no matter how much you try and tell yourself there is no need for concern your mind just doesn’t listen and all the while your partner continues with the behaviour that is instilling the feeling of insecurity throughout your very soul.

• Some people are natural flirts who draw the opposite sex like magnets, which, once the ring is on the finger, leaves partners totally insecure and just waiting for the moment when they are dumped for the next person that comes along. The partner who flirts often has no idea what impact their actions have on their relationship. They don’t actually believe that they are doing anything wrongs but perceive their actions to be friendly and not harmful.

• No one could ever be accused of being unnecessarily jealous in the case of infidelity beyond which, if the marriage survives (and in many instances they do), strong measures need to be put in place to enable the cheated partner come to trust their partner again and control the feeling of jealousy.

• Following the break up of a marriage children need to feel that the split isn’t as a result of anything that they have done. This leaves parents over protective, desperate to make amends for one parent environment and often at the expense of new relationships.

• Another of the common marriage problems is that husbands feel neglected when a new baby arrives no matter how much they wanted the child in the first place. A baby’s mere existence is totally life changing with more attention towards the child and a complete ‘nose dive’ in marital relations. With the bond between mother and child being that much closer it can leave fathers feeling neglected, unwanted and a total spare part.

With friends of mine the jealousy actually worked the other way with the wife feeling totally trapped after the birth of their first child and her husband spending all his time looking after the baby. She just yearned for the life they had prior to children when they enjoyed a good social life and spent all their free time together.

• Too much time at work can leave your partner feeling very insecure, especially when your hours at work increase and you spend less and less time at home for the sake of your family but if we think about it is it really for the sake of the family…..

People get fixated on their goals and have no concept on how this is perceived or how it impacts on their relationship and their family life.

Without the 100% backing of both parties, long hours and continuous travel can prove to be a real relationship killer and, if left unchecked, one of those common marriage problems from which there is no return.

The list is endless and jealousy in and of itself is not a bad thing, it’s strong indication that you really care. The main thing we need to remember is not to let the jealousy consume, arouse fury and become destructive.

If you are suffering from feelings of jealousy look at the cause, question your feelings and determine whether they have any foundation. Is your partner actually doing anything wrong, have they really done anything to drive your jealous emotions or have you just let your emotions spiral out of control.

If the fault is on your side, learning to recognise the fact is the first step towards controlling such an emotional and destructive thought process. It allows you to discuss your fears with your partner, explain how you feel and seek there help in enabling you to over come your jealous emotions, strengthen your marriage and build a more solid foundation for the future.

Communication is the foundation to marital success. If you can learn to communicate then you can express your emotions in a non-confrontational, non-accusatory, understanding and supportive environment.

Don’t just blurt your fears out such as ‘I think you are having an affair’ it might not be true and it will just add fuel to the fire. Explain that something seems to have changed in your relationship, explain what has changed and what makes you think your marriage is different, don’t blame, don’t get emotional just explain to your spouse what is going through your head and seek their help in trying to sort it out.

One of the most common marriage problems is expecting our partners to always know what we want and how we feel. But even with a ring on our finger we aren’t always mind readers, if we haven’t communicated our feelings and our partner doesn’t know they have, in our eyes, done something wrong, how do we expect them to do anything about it!

Tell them now, save your marriage before its too late. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Even if the answer isn’t what you want to hear knowledge is power and with knowledge comes the ability to turn your life around.

Why Are Plasma TVs So Slim?

If plasma TVs can be so thin, why have we spent decades with those bulky, oversized television sets taking up an entire corner of the room? The answer is in the technology.

To understand why plasma TVs can be so thin, you should start by understanding why traditional television sets of the past couldn’t be. Those televisions typically used tubes as the means to producing the pictures. There were several problems with tubes, including their size. The size of tubes inside a television set depended on the amount of screen space the picture was expected to fill.

The technology wasn’t put to the “size test” until people became disenchanted with the typical 20-inch screen and started demanding larger screens. Manufacturers were happy to meet the demands, but there was a problem. The dimensions of tubes are predetermined. If you want a bigger screen, you have to be prepared to project a larger picture. Larger picture demands a larger tube. It’s always been a given that the size of the television set was dependent on the amount of “stuff” that had to be fitted inside. Larger tubes meant larger cases.

If you consider the average size of a 20-inch television set that used tube technology, you can imagine how big the case would have to be in order to project a picture for a 32-inch, 40-inch or larger screen.

By contrast, a plasma TV doesn’t need the tubes in order to project the picture. Plasma TV, by its very technology, can be housed in a very thin case. Instead of having tubes that project a picture onto that big screen, the plasma TV works by lighting up the phosphorous coating at various times to create the images prescribed by the signal.

The result is that plasma TV screens require very little space other than the room for the screen and the phosphorous. In fact, the entire packages are actually thin enough that they can be mounted - creating a viewing experience only to be imagined with the tube-type television technology. It also means that the thickness of the screen can remain virtually constant, even while the width and height of the screen increases dramatically.

When you consider where the technology is, and where it’s come from, you’ll see that the huge television sets of a decade ago weren’t merely a fad. Those cases weren’t created that large simply to provide a shelf for mom’s favorite flower arrangement or the wedding photo. It was just a matter of providing a case for the technology.

Why Is Digital TV Better Than Analog TV?

To believe this one should watch both of them and feel the difference on their own. The quality of picture and sound are of high quality which gives you ultimate excitement and satisfaction while watching your favorite programs. Digital TV compresses images which help to broadcast multiple channels at a same band width. Whereas Analog which is generally called as SDTV uses magnetic waves to transmit and display pictures and sound which has been traditionally used. The special features available in Digital TV is surround sound, crystal clear pictures, sharper pictures which is all requires for the latest evolution of television the High Definition Television.

Compared to the analog the SDTV is significant as it provides more channels from the same station. If you observe the analog broad casting you will find that it is a hassle the capacity to accommodate only a few stations. Where as with digital it contains more information than the analog.

If you already have an analog set and wish to upgrade it to a digital one its possible by using digital tuner decoder though it will display the high quality pictures as provided by the original digital sets. In today’s market you find digital quality sets are available and the best news is that their prices have decreased.

The cable providers always do not supply with digital cables which digital signals. As such cables do not meet the standards when a digital cable is connected to a digital TV it will receive only analog signal, thus eliminating the advantages of a digital television. A solution for this is the digital quality pictures provided by satellite service providers.
